Annual Exams

Annual ExamsAnnual exams at Mission Obstetrics and Gynecology in Warren, Michigan are not only the time to receive preventative health screenings, such as Pap smear testing, pelvic examination, clinical breast examination, and osteoporosis risk assessment, but it is also a time to review your medication management and discuss your health concerns.

It can be helpful to write down a list of your symptoms or problems and bring the list with you to your visit. Our compassionate female doctors will genuinely listen to you and give you the time that you need. As women, the all female doctors of Mission Obstetrics and Gynecology understand your symptoms and are dedicated to providing the most effective treatments for your needs. Please call Mission Obstetrics and Gynecology at (586) 574-1313 to schedule your annual exam today.

Pap Smear & Pelvic Exam

A yearly Pap Smear test is a preventative measure to detect precancerous or cancer cells on the cervix. Cervical cancer that is treated early is associated with the best outcomes, and precancerous cells are almost 100% curable. Annual Pap Smear Testing and pelvic examinations should begin when a female becomes sexually active or after the age of 20. Please call our office at (586) 574-1313 to schedule your appointment.

Clinical Breast Exam and Mammogram Referral

At Mission Obstetrics and Gynecology, we are here to educate you about breast cancer, self-breast examination, and perform clinical breast examinations as part of a yearly check up. You should contact us if you notice a change in your breasts between your appointments. Additionally, we will refer you for mammogram screening, which takes a detailed image of your breast structure to help detect cancerous changes. Breast cancer is common, and in some cases, early diagnosis and treatment is associated with the best outcomes.

Osteoporosis and Bone Density Screening Referral

Osteoporosis is a common progressive disease that causes bone loss and can lead to fractures and disability. The progression of osteoporosis may be reduced with treatments. Because osteoporosis is much more common in women, we will evaluate your risk factors and refer you for Bone Density Screening if necessary. Lost bone cannot be replaced, but further bone loss can be prevented. At Mission Obstetrics and Gynecology, your health is our number one concern, for today and the future.

Please visit Mission Obstetrics and Gynecology’s Patient Education Library to learn more about Osteoporosis.
